I'm going to brag...

In Honor of Valentines Day, I am going to do something I don't normally do...well, atleast something I don't do enough of. I'm going to step away from the crafting, photo's, and generally miscellaneous posts that I usually do and I'm going to devote this entire post to my wonderful husband. {Cue simultaneous gagging "awww"}

In a society where marriage has gone to pot and men are cheating on their wives every single day, criticizing ever single thing that they do, and offering ZERO support of any kind- I realize how unbelievably lucky I am. Despite the fact that my husband "forgets" to pick his clothes up off of the floor on occasion, uses a different glass every single time he gets something to drink, and likes to leave me 'presents' in the sink at night after I've washed all the dishes {haha...love you anyway!} I am indeniably one of the luckiest women I know.

When I told my husband that I wanted to pursue photography, his immediate response, with no hesitation was, "That's great! Now what do you need to get started?" Just like that. None of that, "Maybe you should think about it. Are you sure that's what you want? That's so expensive!" junk that a lot of  husbands would put off. When I told him I wanted to start doing more crafting, he simply said, "Okay. Have fun," and told me to go to the craft store and get what I needed. He reads every single blog I post, looks at every single photo edit I make, and looks at every. single. redeisgn I make here on my blog {and those of you who have followed a while, you know how often I do that!}

That's by far one of the biggest reasons I fell in love with him. He always puts everyone else before himself...even sometimes when he shouldn't. He sacrifices things he wants [and some things he even needs] for the sake of our Little Man or myself. He gives without expecting anything in return and he loves with everything that he has. He's strong and he's headstrong in the things that he believes, which I love. He knows what he believes and there is absolutely NO changing his mind. He is the truest of Southern Gentlemen, with enough Country Redneck to keep me on my toes. Despite the hardships and frustrations he's encountered in his life, he still knows how to show compassion and generosity to those who need it.

He is as diverse as he is simplisitc. He doesn't dote on the materialistic and unimportant things in life, but he is the most complex and random person you may ever meet. You can find him lounging in torn up blue jeans and a cut off t-shirt with a Camo John Deere hat or see him decked out in Dockers, a polo and a pair of Steve Maddens. One minute he'll be belting out the lyrics to Tom Petty or Hank Jr. or jammin' with Third Day and Casting Crowns. He would be content in a Deer Stand or standing over an Operating Table. But you will never, ever find him pulling for any other team besides the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. Ever. He can be headstrong and very openly [and loudly] voice his opinions and then turn around and be as passionate and affectionate as anyone you've ever seen.

I fall more and more in love with him every time I see him playing with our son. It melts my heart to watch him play ball with his boy. His eyes light up in wonder and pure admiration when Little Man says Daddy. And there is no doubt in my mind that he would do anything for our son, or me. He is happiest when things are without complication. No fussing. No arguing. No fighting. He works to maintain the peace in most situations, but if he really doesn't agree with something then all bets are off and everything is game.

He's my best friend. He knows everything about me and loves me anyway. He puts up with my occasional whining and complaining, listens to my pity parties when I'm frustrated or feeling sorry for myself, and puts me in my place when I need it. He's everything that I ever prayed for and more and I don't know what I would do without him.

I love you so much, babe!
Thank you for being YOU.
That's all I want, all I need, and all I will ever ask from you.
You're the best.
Loved you then, love you still.
Always have, always will.
Happy Valentines Day!
xoxo
