It begins tomorrow...

My actual "New Years" that is. If you are like me, I like to start things on Monday. Something about it being the beginning of a new week or something. And since New Years was on a Friday this year, I am waiting until tomorrow to actually start my resolutions. The fact that my in-laws were here through Saturday and I spent today shopping for new clothes for myself spent the entire day cleaning today, I am hitting my resolutions head on tomorrow morning.

My plan? Take the husband to work so I have the car to go pay a few bills [Gag.] After I get back home and put little man back in bed for his morning nap, it's time to tackle this:

Yes. I am very much aware of what I am getting myself into. We did this one night during our "Body & Soul" Fitness class we ladies have at church on Tuesday nights. Our regular 'trainer' wasn't there and someone suggested this DVD. Needless to say, Jillian kicked my flabby out of shape butt. But I felt great after I did it. I felt like I had actually done something and really made a dent in my workout. I actually weighed myself before the class and after I did this 20 minute workout I weighed 3 pounds less. No kidding.

My goal for this year is to get back in shape like I used to be. In college, I was in the best shape of my life. I ran every other day, worked out at the gym, played tennis and walked probably 4 miles a day easy back and forth to class. I looked hott in my swimsuit [yeah, I'm bragging a little bit, but I did...and I worked crazy hard to get that way] and could get away with wearing most anything. All of those really cute summer shorts and tank-tops? Those really looked good on me. Now? I have post-baby flab and I am not toned at all. And I HATE it. I am determined to get back in shape before summer time. I refuse to feel uncomfortable in a swimsuit this year. I want to be back in shape enough to feel confident in a VS Swimsuit...better yet, in a 2-piece of any kind.

Hubby and I are going to start running tomorrow afternoon. He has to do PT tests for work every few months and actually enjoys running. And I used to enjoy it myself. We're also going to either start going to the gym or purchase our own weight-lifting equipment. [Probably the latter of the 2...since by the time we pay gym memberships for both of us plus the extra it costs for childcare, we could just spend the $300 on a home gym.] I am very excited. Seriously. I can't wait. I don't like to work out, but I love the way I feel {and look} when I do it. Don't worry, I'll share my progress with you. And if anyone wants to join in and do the "30 Day Shred" with me, let me know. We'll hold one another accountable.

Also, tomorrow starts my mandatory Quiet/Prayer/Journal time. This is something I have got to do every single day.  No exceptions. Period. Enough Said. It isn't that I don't enjoy it, because I do. I love reading my bible. I love learning new things and I love more than anything the feeling that comes from spending time in God's word and walking away knowing that has spoken to me and showed me something. There is no greater high. And I get frustrated with myself when I don't make the time for God the way that I should. It's selfish and it shows nothing more than a lack of discipline on myself. And that's going to change.

Another goal for hubby and I this year is to finish paying off our debt. Our income tax money is going to take care of the majority of that. We don't owe a whole pile, but we're human and we do have debt. Our goal is to be debt free by December 31, 2010 [with the exception of the way we can pay that off by the end of the year. But all of the little, miniscule things that we owe...yeah. Taking care of that.] And we want to SAVE. SAVE. SAVE.

What are some of your resolutions for this year? Have you already started on them, or are you waiting for the 'new week' rather than just the 'new year?'

Hope everyone has enjoyed their vacation. I'm back to blogging now that the Holiday's are over and the family is gone. Time to go back to the real world. Hubby returns to work tomorrow and I'm NOT excited about it. Oh well...we can't vacay forever.

Courtney - Just a suggestion ... check out Dave Ramsey's website - for help with getting out of debt. He will change your way of thinking.
And/or read his book The Total Money Makeover. I just started taking his class Financial Peace University at my church this evening and I love it! We, fortunately, have no debt (except the house). I blogged about it tonight -
Check it out if you'd like!

I'm starting tomorrow too! I need to tone so badly also. I have the Wii Fit Plus and Your Shape Wii game. The Your Shape one kicked my behind already! I love it though because it shows you what you're doing wrong.
The rest of my personal resolutions are here
Good luck with yours!
