Memorial Day Weekend...

Josh, Noah and I had a very relaxing Memorial Day weekend. We spent most of the weekend either by the pool or watching TV. No cleaning, no studying, just enjoying our time with each other. It was fabulous. Josh had 4 days off since he doesn't work on Friday's, so it was nice.

Again, I am blown away by how quick my baby boy is growing. Just in the past few days he has added tons of new sounds to his "vocabulary", crawled just a few inches, learned to mock us when we stick out our tongue, and learned how to cock his head sideways and look at us like we are crazy. :) I never used to think about all of the little things kids do, but it's so awesome to really get to watch him develope in front of my eyes. It's really rewarding to think that Josh and I are teaching him and influencing him as much as we are.
The good news for me...After months and months of debating and being frustrated because I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life, I finally figured it out. I'm planning to try to start school in August at USF and I want to double major (yes, that says double...I didn't mess up) in English with an Emphasis in Creative Writing and Psychology. Then, I want to get my Masters and eventually my Doctorate in both. Then, after I have my degrees, I'm want to teach at a University. I have always wanted to teach, but the rules for high school and all are way too inclusive and leave little room for creativity. I think I would be able to really do more my style of teaching in a college setting.
I'm excited. I have been researching schools for the past two weeks, trying to get some ideas as to where I want to go when we move next year. If we end up in Boston, Boston College is my first choice. If we end up in Baltimore, then I want to go University of Maryland. And naturally if we end up in New York, the only option is NYU. LOL. That's pending my grades and involvement at USF. I know it's going to be extremely stressful, but I am convinced that I can do it and still maintain a household and take care of Noah while Josh works and studies. Not to mention, Josh is trying to get a second job at a hospital to stay up on his medical stuff, and he will be starting school when we move too. One of my friends told me I was in the running toward World Domination next. I don't know about that, but I'm sure that if I set my mind to it and organize my time, I'll be fine.
I've already started thinking about how to go about it right now. Take class only 2 or 3 days a week (MWF or TTH) in the afternoons when Josh gets off. I'll be home by 10:00 easy, because most classes end at 9:00 or 9:30. Use the day time to keep the house clean and study. No big deal. It will be a little different when we move next year, depending on Josh's schedule. And I'm not sure I'll be ready to consider putting Noah in daycare, so that will require a little bit more time, but again, scheduling and organization can accomplish just about anything. This is something I want to do and I am determined to do it without sacrificing my family.
Anyway. Since I did absolutely nothing this weekend, I have several loads of laundry that need doing and a house that needs a good scrubbing. Not to mention, Noah is sitting in his walker right now staring at me as if he is trying to figure out why, for once, he is not the center of attention. Hope everyone had a fabulous Memorial Day Weekend and has a great week!

I have definately been slacking on my blog lately. My apologies to those who follow it. Things have been going well. Noah is growing too fast to keep up with, but we are loving every minute of it. He has finally gotten back on a normal sleeping pattern, and has adjusted really well to eating "big boy food." Still not talking or crawling yet, but getting close. He is learning his word sounds, but not quite able to put them together. I am anticipating it any day. Same with the crawling. He knows how to push his butt up, and how to hold his chest up, but can't do them both at the same time. He's funny when he tries.

Mother's Day was great! Spent the day just relaxing with my boys. Mike and Marty (Josh's cousins) stopped by Sunday afternoon to eat supper on their way home from Key West. It was great to see them, considering they live in NC and we NEVER get to see them. I have fallen down on my writing lately. I have started 3 different books, but haven't gotten more than a couple of chapters into any of them. I'm still having a hard time finding an idea that seems good enough. I haven't deleted anything just in case some ideas start flowing.

Josh got the list of HS openings from work the other day. It was really exciting. Most everything that was on there now, will be there next year and every place we were thinking about it there: Baltimore, Boston, Seattle, Staten Island, Elizabeth City...Josh was extremely excited that Baltimore was there. That's what he's really wanting. There or Boston. It doesn't matter to me. As long as it's North and something new.

Anyways...not much to blog about today. Just wanted to let everyone know what was going on in our little corner of life. Noah will be 7 months old on the 27th...where is time going? Josh's 28th birthday is June 16, followed by my 22nd on July 17th. Lots to look forward to these next few months.
