Some things just really bug me...

I had supper planned for tonight, but Josh got a new hamburger patty presser thing that he wanted to try, so our supper plans got put off until tomorrow. Being the wonderful, loving, super sweet husband he is, he decided to take little ol' me to Starbucks for a little treat (betcha can't guess what I had...). After we left there, I had to run into the Walmart Neighborhood Market to pick up some Hamburger Meat, because we didn't have any thawed out. I got in line and immediately got frustrated. So, I decided just for kicks, I would make a post out of this.

This woman in front of me has a huge buggy load of groceries. A ton of steaks, fresh shrimp, candy, the expensive shampoos and conditioners (the kind I don't even use), STARBUCKS GROUND COFFEE, and a pile of other stuff. So, she gets to the counter to check out and pays with FOOD STAMPS. (That's not the best part.) So, she ends up paying like $4 for all of her junk, pushes her buggy to the front of the store, turns around, goes to grab a case of BEER and a carton of CIGARETTES and goes back through the line and pays cash. Beer and Cigarettes. Seriously. You can buy that but you can't buy food?? That's where our tax money is going. To pay for people like you to walk around, probably unemployed, using food stamps to buy food (probably better food than we eat every night...seriously, the woman had like 10 steaks in her buggy. The individually wrapped, $12 or $14 a piece Ribeyes and T-Bones).

That really irks me. That's the garbage that we are paying for with our tax money. This is a subject I try to avoid with the husband. He is southern conservative in so many ways and this infuriates him to no end. Which, if you can't tell, I am a little ill by it to. So then, I get up there to pay for my stuff and hand the cashier a $20, she hands me some change and before I could put the change in my wallet and grab my stuff, she is swiveling my stuff around and ushering the next guy through the line. I had to literally chase my stuff around the baggy thing to grab my groceries. Not to mention, I dropped half of my change on the floor and had to stop and pick it up, while other crazy people practically ran over me with their half full buggies.

Anywho. Now I feel better. Just thought I would share that with you all. Haha...

Sorry you had a tough time at the store. We were on food stamps when we were poor college kids and we actually would get more $ then we needed and if we didn't use it it would go away. What I did a few times was go buy groceries for our friends, who were also poor college kids, and their son. I knew they didn't have much $ and they didn't get food stamps. Your state may also give too much $. Anyway that doesn't excuse her from buying the beer and cigarettes.

On another note, I can not figure out how to make my own button with a scroll box. The sites I have used are way too confusing. Help me please. Sorry to beg, I am just frustrated.

Hope the rest of your day went well.

Wow, what an adventure! That is one of the reasons we will never go on WIC! I am much like your husband and we will scrape together a few bucks for milk before I go on handouts :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Sorry it took me so long to respond.

It really frosts my cupcake when I see people doing things like this. I know everyone needs a vice, but at the expense of others? No way. I actually have to save my pennies to afford a sixer of beer but I manage to pay for it without government assistance. I know times are tough, but people should be cutting things that aren't necessary, not counting on us to pay for their bad habits.
