EXACTLY what this country needs

With the RNC going on all week this week, and every other blogger in the United States that thinks they know something about politics posting their opinions on the Presidential Campaign, I figured I would put in my 2 cents as well. All of the hype this past week has stemmed around John McCain's choice of Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential Candidate. Naturally, the liberal Democrats have slammed the poor woman for every breathe she has taken and every move she has made in the past couple of days, and I think it's high time that some things (besides the negativity that is being implored around her and her family) be brought to light. I'm no political science major, and I don't claim to know everything about every single issue facing this country...but I do admit to having some common sense, and do admit to knowing enough about politics and the way this country OUGHT to be run to hold my own in a political debate.
The biggest question swirling around the-until recently-unknown governor, is how qualified is she to be the Second in Command of this great country? My answer: Highly. Democrats are feeding on the idea that she has no experience at the National Level of Government. My response to that? Who does until they are actually there? If Sarah Palin was not qualified to be the Vice Presidential Candidate in the 2008 election, then I assure you, she wouldn't be. The Press is having a field day with the whole idea that she was only given 70 Questions by McCain's committee to even determine whether they wanted her on the ballot. Seriously? How ignorant do you have to be to actually believe that 70 Questions are all that are given to someone that is potentially going to be 2nd in command in running a nation?
Her personal life is taking a big hit in reference to her qualifications as Vice President. Suddenly, being a wife, a mother, and a self proclaimed "Hockey Mom" makes you unsuitable to hold a high office in our government. No one seems to have a problem with a man running the country...even if he does have a wife and children. No one seemed to have a problem with Hillary Clinton being the President of the United States, although she too, was a wife and a mother. So what's the difference between them and Sarah Palin? Can a woman be a wife, mother, and hold such a demanding office? Absolutely! For starters, only Sarah Palin can answer to what Sarah Palin is capable of. It is no one else's right to determine that for her. Period.
And the scrutiny she is undergoing on account of her daughter being pregnant. This is a big irritation to me...sends my blood pressure sky high. A political party that is noted for supporting Abortion, Gay Marriage Rights, and Stem-Cell Research wants to condemn this 17 year old girl for getting pregnant out of wedlock? WHO are you [democrats/liberals/anyone passing judgement] to judge this girl for her mistake? WHO are you and on what ethical grounds are basing your opinion to say that it's wrong? You are going to sit here and tell me that it's ok for a girl to go out and have sex with every Tom, Dick and Harry that walks by her, get herself pregnant, and then decide that she doesn't want to take responsibility for what she has done...it's ok for murder this innocent baby that has done absolutely nothing wrong...but for a girl to make a mistake and get pregnant when she is not married dones her mother as unworthy to hold a position in the White House? A party whose President had an affair during his term in office wants to hold a 17 year old girl accountable for HER mistake? What kind of sense does that even make? It's a total double standard...
If anything, people should be praising Sarah Palin and her daughter Bristol for her choice to not only marry the boy that got her pregnant, but to keep the baby as well. The girl is a teenager...teenagers make mistakes. Rather than RUNNING from her mistake, she owned up to it, admitted she did wrong, and is taking RESPONSIBILITY for her actions. She didn't take the easy way out and abort her pregnancy. Believe me, Sarah Palin would probably be under more scrutiny if she had of. I commend both of them for her choice. Sarah Palin has obviously raised a strong family that knows how to encourage and support one another no matter how trying the times get or what circumstances arise.
John McCain was definately not an idiot for choosing Sarah Palin as his running mate. I think he stepped up the race big time. Sarah Palin is the all around American Woman. She is a mother...she has a strong, healthy marriage...she has strong moral values...she has a son serving in the US Army...and a child with a disability. Does anyone see how well-rounded her profile is? How many different groups she identifies with? She connects with what the families of the US Armed Services experience...she has a son who will be fighting overseas. You don't get much more involved than that. She has a child with Downe-Syndrome. She understands the ups and downs with the healthcare system in America, and knows the ways that it needs to be reformed. She was raised in a blue-collar working family, and identifies with the needs and concerns of ALL of the blue-collar American's out there today. She is a woman...all of these big major Independent Feminists who wanted to see Hillary Clinton as the Democratic Candidate are now turning their heads to this other strong, highly qualified female leader who is now on the ballot. Yea...John McCain isn't as stupid as people think he is. He knew what he was doing
Do the research on Sarah Palin. I'm not saying she is perfect. Who is? She's human. If you want perfection, then you need to put Jesus in the White House...and I'm not seeing that happening considering people don't even want him in schools. Check out her history. Read up on her stand-points and her views. Read up on all of the things she has done since she's been in office. I don't hesitate to say that on November 4, John McCain and Sarah Palin will definately have my vote. Sarah Palin is exactly the kind of influence this country needs in the White House...a blue-collar, hard working, woman who understands the needs and concerns of the American People.
